What We Do
From the Board
Our Association is made up of approximately 150 USSF certified referees living in and around the southwest portion of Los Angeles County, California. SSBRA will provide referee crews for around 5,000 matches in 2014. The Association will referee around 3000 youth matches for the Southern California Development Soccer League (DSL) and the Coast Soccer League (CSL) during the 2014 season, all of the matches played by the Los Angeles J-League (an amateur men’s league), a number of South Bay Peninsula Soccer League (SBPSL) matches , all Manhattan Beach 7v7, all Beverly Hills 7v7 matches, all City of Lawndale youth matches, CSL Spring League games, DSL Spring League matches, State Cup and National Cup matches organized by CYSA-S, and numerous tournaments and “friendly” matches held throughout Southern California.
We meet regularly in a collegial setting to discuss soccer refereeing, receive training, and to conduct the business of the organization. Our meetings often feature guest speakers including past and present FIFA referees, and Cal South monthly training.
Starting in 2014 SSBRA is also hosting the Cal South led Referee Professional Development (RPD) classes at North High School in Torrance. This provides our members the advantage of a RPD training class in a convenient South Bay location.
You can read our current Association newsletter by clicking here. We are proud of the services we perform for the community. In addition to paid services, our membership supports the community with volunteer work.
Thank you for visiting. We hope you come back again soon, and if there is something more you would like to see on this site, please send our President an email.
